Syllabus plan/Content: - Introduction into the system of sounds of the English language
- Phonetic transcription and transliteration
- Relation between pronunciation and spelling
- National varieties of English
- Classification of the English vocabulary
- Fundamentals of word formation and word formation analysis
- Introduction into terminology and the basics of terminology work


Learning Goals
Subject-specific skills and competences: 1) operational basic knowledge of phonetics, lexicology and Terminology
2) autonomous, efficient use of language teaching materials, dictionaries and online resources in the acquisition of vocabulary and
its analysis
Generic competences (Personal and key skills): Development and autonomous application of linguistic analysis methods
